Skin Care
Skincare can be a tricky thing to handle. There are lots of aspects to balance in order to achieve healthy, glowing skin. These 5 tricks can help get you there.
1. Use an SPF or Sun Shield
Damaging UV rays can be the number one enemy to healthy skin. It causes early signs of aging with wrinkles and sun spots. It reduces vitality and that healthy glow, and nobody wants that. Using a skin care line that incorporates SPF or has a mechanical sun shield you can protect your skin. A mechanical shield is similar to wearing an extra layer of clothing protection. Not all skin care is alike though, so do your research!
2. Detergent Free Cleanser
Certain cleaners have harsh chemicals in them to create a detergent like clean. This is harmful to your skin’s natural oils! Beware of cleansers like this that can strip your skin of its natural oils. Find a cleanser that is made with natural ingredients. I opt for one that is a three-in-one cleanser, nourisher, and toner. I don’t like complicated skincare systems. I go for more natural, effective, and easy! Here is more information about what I use.
3. Drink Water
This one is simple enough. Hydrated skin is healthy skin! The rule of thumb is to drink half of your body weight in ounces. It can be tough but it is so worth it! Try doing a one-week water challenge with a friend to start a healthy new habit!

4. Exfoliate
Exfoliation is so important for skin health. Getting rid of the dead skin is great for helping plump fresh cells make their way to the top giving you a natural healthy glow. You can look up many DIY scrubs. Any easy recipe is Sugar, a little Honey, and Coconut Oil. Natural and cheap. If you’re looking for something higher end, I love volcanic ash based scrubs. They provide powerful exfoliating properties and nourish your skin well.
5. Healthy Eating
Healthy eating is another great way to get the nutrients your skin needs. Almonds are a great source of B vitamin’s which are essential to healthy skin. (And great snack to fill you up on a long day). Fish is high in Omega-3’s that gives a natural shine to both your skin and hair. Carrots and spinach contain Vitamin A another great source of nutrients. I also suggest a multi-vitamin or veggie capsule to ensure you’re getting a healthy amount!
