I’m going to be super honest with y’all. ⠀
⠀
My morning routine has been totally off for about 3 months. I have struggled with getting up early for school and checking off my task list.
⠀
I have really been feeling the impacts too. I saw my body and mind begin to slide back a little bit. I wasn’t being intentional and it was effecting how I showed up for others.
So when my winter break started I decided to refocus. I am overhauling how I start my day completely. No more rolling out of bed and scrambling to get out the door in time. ⠀
⠀
The best way to approach multiple changes is not to attack it as a whole and try to change everything in your life all at once. That’s not very attainable and is not likely to stick. (I would know, I tried that) ⠀
⠀
My goal now is to work on small portions of my routine until I get the whole thing done. I started out by cutting out the distracting things that keep me from doing the productive items in my morning. (Bye bye amazingly fun mini golf app). By clearing some distractions I give myself a better focus on the change at hand. Mindfulness over mindlessness!

⠀
My next step has been to work on the first part of my routine; working out. I want to get it done first thing in the morning because it’s a huge priority to me. I have been intentionally working out every single day for 4 days now. (Yes even through Christmas Day). I am getting it in right as I roll out of bed. I am already beginning to feel the fog lift.
Next I will implement my daily Bible Study by being apart of an accountability group that discusses the content daily. I have to fuel my body and spirit daily to be my best self.
Finally I will be better prepared for the rest of the day. Planning my meals the day before, setting out clothes, etc.
I am doing each of these in phases one after another so it is going to take some time to implement. I am so excited to see the benefits though.
⠀
All of this is just a reminder that you DO NOT have to wait for a special day to make a change. It is not about a single good idea to be a better person, but an intentional effort to move forward. At any moment you have the power and authority to change your own life! It’s completely up to you. ⠀
Get it done my friend, you are worth it.
